Reel ID (we, us, or our) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Reel ID you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

• Account data – email address and username when you create an account.
• Photos – images you submit for fish identification. These may be used to improve our AI model.
• Location data – approximate GPS coordinates when you log a catch, only if you grant permission.
• Device info – OS version and app version for crash diagnostics.

We do not collect advertising identifiers, financial data, or any data from contacts or health apps.

Camera & Photo Library

Reel ID requests camera and photo library access solely to let you photograph or select fish for identification. Photos are sent to our servers for AI analysis and may be stored to improve identification accuracy over time. We do not share your photos with third parties.

Location

Location access is optional and only used to record the catch location you choose to log. We do not track your location in the background.

AI Training

Submitted photos may be used to retrain and improve our fish identification model. This helps the entire Reel ID community get more accurate results over time. You can request deletion of your submitted data at any time (see Contact below).

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data only:

• With service providers who help us operate the app (hosting, analytics), under strict confidentiality agreements.
• When required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Retention & Deletion

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Anonymised model training data may be retained separately.

Children's Privacy

Reel ID is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us for immediate removal.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
